I finally went to the store to pick up a bunch of stuff I needed. I'd been putting off going just because I didn't want to spend boat time shopping. Today I didn't have any help coming so I figured it was as good a time as any.

Upgrading the Boatworks

First up, lights!

Light burned out

Last week we lost one bulb. I realized Thursday I had a spare, and changed it. Almost immediately the other old one blew. So now I have another new one and a new spare.

Next, sawhorses!

I'd been meaning to get some new sawhorses so I didn't have to cannibalize my workbench anytime I needed to lift the boat up. I couldn't find any that had wide tops so I 'went the custom route' which makes them sound waaaaay fancier than they are.

Sawhorse one

These are just a bracket and a couple of 2x4s, but they get the job done. As an added bonus, I could make them kinda short, like me. And the best part:

Sawhorse two

With the boat upside down and the sawhorse about a quarter of the way away from the stern there's still some sawhorse sticking out! No more fear of knocking the boat off!

Actual Work...

Well, I'm back to gluing up the lapstrakes in the bottom side of the hull. You may remember that the glue stopped before each stitch. Now all of that is being filled in. I did some cleanup work on the fiberglass on the inside of the hull but figured I could get more done on the bottom.
